POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator is an additive specially formulated for use with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating. This paint drying accelerator is designed to accelerate the cure time of POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating by 30-50% without affecting the ultimate physical properties. Developed to allow for a more efficient production environment, POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator reduces recoat and dry time and enables you to move on to the next phase faster, without compromising product performance.

This paint drying accelerator is added to POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating by volume and should be thoroughly mixed. Once this quick dry additive for paint is mixed in typically the cure time of the POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is reduced by 30-50%.

Important: Adding this paint drying additive drastically reduces the cure time (time you have to apply to your substrate) and under humid and warmer conditions the dry time is significantly quicker.

We recommend testing this dry system accelerator to ensure your specific needs are met.

- Use 0.25 fl oz POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator per 1 quart (946 mL) Rust Preventive Coating.
- One 8 oz. bottle of POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator is enough for 32 quarts or 8 gallons of POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating.

What do I do if I want to mix a smaller amount than a quart ?: Mix five drops per ounce for smaller amounts.
Can I use POR-15 Fast Dry Accelerator with other paints?: POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator was formulated exclusively for use with POR-15 Rust Preventive Paint. Other urethane paints may also benefit from the addition of POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator but we have not tested it with non-moisture cured urethane paints and do not recommend at this time.

Dry time

Absolutely the best stuff on planet earth.

One must wear protective gloves when applying it. I’ve using it for at least a decade. Proprietary thinning and cleaning is advisable as well. When it’s dry you can hit it with a hammer and not leave a dent if applied properly. Brush works fine let it seek its own level, the brush marks will disappear if not overbrushed.
Be sure and use something similar to Saran Wrap when putting the lid back on.
Use new Saran Wrap each time you do it.

Dairy Farm

Used this in our catch pen at the dairy. The area gets manure and urinated on about 18 hours a day. Also the cow slobber is very acidic from their rumination process. Tough environment to say the least. I hit the rust off, cleaned with a wire brush, and then used the rust preventative kit (degreaser/metal prep/coating). Also added the dry accelerator due to the time sensitive nature of the milking rotation. Product worked great! Dried in time, and is holding up perfectly so far. Personally I would use this product over a rubber coating 9 out of 10 times.

Application:

Directions: Add 1 ounce of POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator to 1 gallon of POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating and stir to mix thoroughly (do not shake). The dry time of POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is dependent on temperature and humidity even with the addition of this accelerator. Spot testing is recommended.

Important: POR-15 Dry Time Accelerator is designed for use with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating only and its use with other products is not recommended.
