Use the POR-15® 3-Step System to

Stop Rust Permanently!

POR-15® products are designed to work as a complete system. When used together, they provide a coating that not only stops rust, but prevents it from returning. POR-15®products are available individually, and many are available in money saving kits geared to your specific restoration need. Here is how the POR-15® 3-Step system works:

STEP 1 - Clean & Degrease Surface

Clean metal surfaces with water-based POR-15® Cleaner Degreaser. It removes dirt, grease, wax and other contaminants that interfere with restoration. This step is crucial in how to apply POR-15 effectively.

STEP 2 - Neutralize Rust; Etch Metal

Use POR-15® Metal Prep on the surface to remove rust or prepare it for POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating. Metal Prep neutralizes rust, etches metal, and coats it with zinc phosphate for better adhesion. This process is key to how does POR-15 work in stopping and preventing rust.

STEP 3 - Apply Rust Preventive Coating to Surface

Apply 2 thin coats of POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating. This is the answer to how do you apply POR-15. You’ll get an unbelievably tough, hard finish that won’t crack, chip, or peel. It’s so tough you can pound it with a hammer and not damage it! That’s REAL protection!

Then Topcoat the Surface

Finish your job with a POR-15® Top Coat or any other POR-15® coating that suits your needs.
