POR-15 2K Urethane Industrial Top Coat paints are tough, glossy, two-component coatings for use over primed or painted surfaces.

They are moisture cured, so exposure to moisture and humidity will actually improve their performance and strength.

When fully cured, POR-15 2K Urethane Paints are a rock-hard, chemical resistant, non-porous, and incredibly tough coating. Durable and easily cleaned, they will not crack, chip, peel, or fade with age. POR-15 2K Urethane paints will withstand even the most intensive UV environments.

These beautiful, two-component coatings are stronger than any color paint you have ever tried. The long-lasting brilliant colors will look terrific wherever you use them, and will withstand incredible abuse. You'll be amazed and delighted at how well POR-15 2K Urethane paints hold up under conditions that would quickly destroy ordinary finishes.

POR-15 2K Urethane paints are also excellent for industrial applications. Use our safety colors on machinery guards or heavy equipment, and then stand back and marvel at how long they last under abuse.

Put POR-15 2K Urethane top coat paints on the chassis, skid plate and other undercarriage parts of your car, truck, or motorcycle, and quit worrying about stone chips and gravel roads. You'll be amazed at the toughness!

When using POR-15 2K Urethane Clear, it is recommended to use POR-15 Alloy Prep (formerly AP-120 Metal Prep) for a more gentle etching on alloys and other soft metals like aluminum, brass, copper.

We recommend buying POR-15 Solvent with 2K Urethane for thinning and clean-up.

Excellent Product and Very Easy to Apply

I brushed this product on the chassis and suspension of a classic car and the finish is amazingly tough and smooth. I was so impressed that I used the remaining product on a winch bumper and there are no chips after a year of use.

Difficult to work with

In the end, the result is great. Fantastic, hard finish that beads water and the color is great. However, after mixed, the coating is very difficult to work with. I was coating outside basement (bilco) doors and was using a 3 inch wide brush. It began to harden and set up so fast that it was showing brush marks as I tried to feather the strokes together as I went across the doors. As it dried, it almost appeared to swell slightly and produce drip marks. I found it very difficult to work with.

Works well

I refinished a bathtub several years ago with an earlier version of this product. Some of the paint on the floor of the tub was chipping off. Wonder if it could be because of very "hard" water. Well I sanded and de-greased and applied the 2K Urethane. Looks Great. Sure would be easier if the product came in smaller sizes like it used to, for touch ups like this. Thanks.

Tougher'n woodpecker lips, short pot life, poor cosmetic result

Having had an outstanding result with PORs 2K previously, I bought it again. After accounting for my own errors, I give it an average rating this time. Pot life is 30 min, not 2 hours (according to POR itself). Application was much trickier with the same equipment as before, and the surface finish was frankly poor. A thin coat was impossible to get by spraying. All that said, the result was tolerable for the machine tool I was restoring. Past experience suggests that this finish will be very tough, very resistant to scuffing, shop fluids, and very durable. A better cosmetic result would have been nice. Tech service was superb- a great help diagnosing what went wrong and how to recover.

Directions:

Please read directions fully before proceeding so that you understand the complete POR-15 2K Urethane Part A and POR-15 2k Urethane Hardener Activator process.

Surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dust, grease, dirt, loose rust, and other foreign material to ensure adequate adhesion.

For all metal surfaces: Remove all oil and grease from surface with POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser following directions on container. Prepare the surface to be coated using POR-15 Metal Prep. For better performance, use Near White Metal Blast Cleaning per SSPC- SP10/NACE 2. For optimum performance prime any bare metal with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating.

APPLICATION:

Mix contents of each component thoroughly with low speed power agitation prior to combining 2K Urethane Part A with Part B 2k Urethane Hardener Activator. Make certain no pigment remains on the bottom of the can. After each component is fully mixed, combine 3 parts by volume of 2K Urethane Part A with 1 part by volume of Part B 2k Urethane Hardener Activator. Thoroughly agitate the mixture with power agitation for 5 minutes. Apply with natural bristle brush or spray (Read all warnings and use adequate safety equipment during application). We recommend mixing and testing a very small amount before being your project. Depending on environmental conditions, the chemical reaction may occur to quickly resulting in bubbles in the finish. To reduce bubbles and achieve smoother results use POR-15 Solvent and thin 5%-20% depending on your areas VOC laws.

POT LIFE: 2 hours.

DRY TIME: 12 hours.

RE-COAT TIME: 6 hours.

CLEAN-UP: Use xylene to thin (max. 10%) and to clean application tools or non-cured drips and splatter.

Use only with adequate ventilation. Before opening cans (POR-15 2K Urethane Part A and POR-15 Part B Urethane Hardener Activator) please read all warnings labels.
