Calipers came our great, takes time and read instructions.

The finished product is great and easy to use. But be prepared to give up 1 day of your life. If you leave them on the vehicle you can’t drive for 24 hours. Watch the weather and read the instructions on the box and the can. That’s why only 4 stars. The box instructions and the bottles and cans inside tell a slightly different story.
The cans say 2 coats, and the cure times are different vs the box.
The brush and foam brush supplied are useless and fell apart after 1 caliper. Go buy a bunch of each before starting.
So read everything and take tour time and it will come out great.

Red Caliper Paint

I did a lot of researching looking for the best caliper paint for my 2002 Jaguar XKR calipers including POR-15, G2, VHT, Duplicolor, and BCS Automotive (UK). G2 was eliminated since once opened you need to use it since you had to add the 2 components together before using, BCS sounded awesome but not available here in the US. I eventually chose POR-15 (Red) and the results are just fantastic. My XKR is silver with the Red Center Caps and the red calipers just really pop. I could not be happier. I have read some complaints about the results but if you follow their Ste-by-Step instructions you will not be disappointed. Its a fair amount of time to do the job right but worth the effort IMO.

Worked great

This is a great kit. I used a little Dry Time Accelerator I had left over from another project, when I was applying the Rust Preventive to speed up the process. Color went on good, applied it in nice thin coats. My calipers look fantastic now

Step 1: Remove all four wheels from vehicle. Calipers don’t need to be removed. Don’t remove brake line.

Step 2: Clean surfaces to be painted with POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser. Spray on the cleaner and brush the dirt, grease and grime with a small scrub brush or toothbrush. Wear protective gloves and glasses when cleaning your calipers. Read directions on POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser container before using.

Step 3: Rinse cleaned caliper thoroughly with water and dry with clean towel. Now apply POR-15 Metal Prep and keep surface wet for 20 minutes and then wash off POR-15 Metal Prep with water and dry thoroughly.

Step 4: Mask off the areas not to be painted. Tape off the brake bleeder screw, brake lines, and caliper piston boots and anything else you don’t want painted.

Step 5: Open the small can of POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating and stir, making sure the contents are thoroughly mixed. Using a foam brush (included in your kit) paint the caliper evenly, making sure the coating is evenly applied but not to the point where the paint runs. Because this is a rust preventive coating you want to be sure you don’t miss any spots which could rust later if not covered.

Step 6: When the POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is just dry to the touch, with slight finger-drag remaining, normally in the 2-5 hour range, it’s ready for the POR-15 Caliper Paint to be applied. Open the can of POR-15 Caliper Paint, stir thoroughly, and apply the first coat in thin but even strokes. When the first coat is dry (3 -4 hours), apply a second coat to achieve a beautiful ceramic-like finish.

These products should only be handled when wearing latex gloves, eye protection, and NOSHA approved respirator. Always work in a well ventilated area.
