Metal Truck Bed Liner Bundle - Gallon

item(s): PB-3S-OBL

The ultimate rust protection and impact resistance system for surfaces that benefit from rubberized traction like truck beds and trailer decks.

This Metal Truck Bed Liner Bundle is designed for standard-sized 6-foot truck beds and tractor beds. One gallon of POR-15 3-Step Stop Rust System and One Gallon OEM Bed Liner will properly cover a standard-sized 6-foot truck bed with the recommended 2 coats.

POR-15 OEM Bed Linertruck bed and underbody coating offers superior adhesion, impact resistance, and flexibility, as well as an attractive texturized gloss black finish that provides the ultimate in rubberized truck bed and undercoating protection. Our truck bed liner is UV stable and will resist damage typically caused by exposure to UV. POR-15 truck bed liner is a low-odor product that can be cleaned with soap and water and does not have a limiting pot life. POR-15 OEM Bed Liner also has good sound dampening qualities, making it a good choice for soundproofing. Any unused product can be resealed in its container and used later for touch-up or on other projects. OEM Truck Bed Liner and Underbody Coating can be used on metal or wood substrates to achieve an anti-slip surface.

How to use: Clean, Prep, and coat metal with the 3-Step Stop rust system. Apply OEM Bed Liner over POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating when it has just dried and still has a slight friction/resistance while dragging your finger along the surface (dry but slightly tacky). If the POR-15 Rust Preventive has already completely dried, just sand with 320-380 grit and clean with our Cleaner Degreaser. You can then apply OEM Bedliner over the dried POR-15 Rust Preventive.

Choose One gallon of each product to cover approximately 100-120 square feet. This is enough coating to properly apply the recommended 2-coats to all standard-sized 6-foot truck beds. It can be brushed-on, rolled-on, or sprayed on with a Schutz-paint-gun.

Drop-In Liner VS POR-15 OEM Bed Liner

Drop-in liners trap moisture, causing rust. POR-15 OEM Bedliner conforms to whatever it is applied to, providing great protection and a customized look.

3-Step Stop Rust Undercoat System is the ultimate rust preventive system for permanent corrosion protection. Shields metal in just 3 easy steps, clean it, prep it, and coat it.

The POR-15 3-Step Stop Rust System is designed to stop rust on metal surfaces and ensures the best results when applying POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating. Prepare and prime bare metal or directly paint rust with confidence. The clear-cut process allows for the proper cleaning, prepping, and coating of metal to create a non-porous surface that seals and protects metal from water, chemicals, and salt, and other corrosive contaminants.

The components of the 3-Step Stop Rust System

Step 1 POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser

Step 1: POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser (Formerly Marine Clean) removes grease, oil, dirt and grime in one application without leaving residues, noxious fumes or flammable solvents.

Step 2 POR-15 Metal Prep

Step 2: POR-15 Metal Prep (Formerly Prep & Ready) provides the best adhesion for POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating on any metal surface, including shiny polished metal surfaces.

Step 2 POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating

Step 3: POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is a high-tech, high performance rust preventive coating designed for application directly on stable rust or seasoned metal surfaces. Provides permanent rust protection with a hammer-tough finish resistant to acids, alkalis, and repels all fuels and oils.

Metal that is media blasted provides the best surface for coatings. If not possible, remove all built-up dirt, loose rust, and paint. Note that if you leave old paint behind, the rust preventive can only adhere as strongly as the paint it is applied over. This generally is not as strong as applying to prepped and scuffed-up bare metal.

These products should only be handled when wearing latex gloves, eye protection, and NOSHA approved respirator in enclosed areas. Always work in a well-ventilated area.

Tip. Break the job in to two or three days. For best chemical adhesion perform steps 3 and 4 on the same day. For areas of low atmospheric humidity or cold, use the Dry Time Accelerator with the POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating to cut down its dry time.

Step 1. Apply our POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser to a surface, agitate the surface with a scuff pad or brush to breakup dirt, oil, grease, and keep wet for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly with water and allow the surface to dry. Repeat if surface is still oily or greasy. It is important not to allow the product to dry on the surface prior to rinsing with water. POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser is a heavy duty water soluble cleaner that may be used over metal, wood, fiberglass, vinyl and concrete. If splattered on a finished surface, immediately wipe off and rinse area with water.

Step 2. Apply POR-15 Metal Prep to the bare metal surface, keep wet 10-15 minutes then rinse thoroughly with water and allow the surface to dry. It is important not to allow POR-15 Metal Prep to dry on the surface prior to rinsing with water. Once dry the surface may show a flash rust or white powdery residue this is perfectly normal. POR-15 Metal Prep provides the best surface profile and greatly improves paint adhesion to any type of metal surface for opaque paints and coatings. If splattered on a finished surface, immediately wipe off and rinse area with water.

Step 3. Wearing gloves, eye protection, and a properly fitted NOSHA approved respirator is recommended when applying POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating. Do Not shake. Mix by stirring until all solids at the bottom of the can are dissolved. Mixing may be done with a drill mixer on slow or by hand. It is recommended to apply two thin covering coats of POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating. Apply the first coat to the properly prepared substrate with a brush and roller. Apply the second coat when the first coat is dry but still slightly tacky to the touch. If POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is applied too heavy, brush marks may result in the finish. Do not apply this product in direct sun light or if the humidity is above 70%. If the humidity is too high POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating will surface dry too quickly which may result in small bubbles in the finish. POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating requires an opaque topcoat only if exposed to direct sunlight. Best chemical adhesion to POR-15 Rust Preventive is when it is dry but still tacky (it has a finger drag). If the rust preventive is already completely dried or cured, you must scuff the surface with a maroon pad or 320-380 grit sandpaper for mechanical adhesion of a topcoat.

Step 4. For best adhesion apply the first coat of OEM Bed Liner over POR-15 Rust Preventive when it is dry but still tacky (has a finger drag). If the POR-15 Rust preventive has dried and cured past tacky, you will need to scuff the surface with a maroon pad or 380 grit sand paper for mechanical adhesion. OEM Bed Liner has small pieces of rubber in the formula that provide textured grip and impact resistance to surfaces. You must mix thoroughly before and during application to provide an even finish. Mix OEM Bed Liner throughly by stirring until all solids at the bottom of the can are dissolved and rubber is despersed evenly. Mixing may be done with a drill mixer or manually by hand. Keep mixing manually during application. Apply OEM Bed Liner with a brush, a roller with an all-purpose short nap shed resistant phenolic core, or a Schutz Gun. Apply a second coat after the first is dry. A third coat may be apply to even the texture and increased durability.
