POR-15 High Build Primer is a sealer bonding coat that provides sandable and buildable coating that can be applied over dry POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating and all POR-15 topcoat paints to enable quick refinishing and recoating of these products. For best adhesion on the Rust Preventive Coating, apply the primer when the Rust Preventive is dry to the touch but still slightly tacky (has a finger drag) or scuff cured Rust Preventive with 240-320 grit or scuff pad. POR-15 High Build Primer is a single component formula that fills in minor Imperfections. POR-15 High Build Sandable Primer adheres well to steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and other primed and painted surfaces. This primer can be applied with a brush, roller, and sprayed with a 1.7 - 2.0 tip HVLP setup. If required, High Build Primer can be reduced with POR-15 Reducer up to 10%.
We developed this special "interlocking" primer after many requests from customers who wanted a coating with special adhesion characteristics that make it perfect for most painted surfaces, especially POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating.
This tie coat primer is highly resistant to penetrating topcoats, like lacquers, enamels, and two-component finishes. It sands very smoothly, as well. Try some of this sanding high build primer on your next project.
