Protect and beautify your engine! POR-15 Engine Enamel high temperature engine paint is formulated to be the best self-leveling engine paint available, with a richness and depth of color unsurpassed by any other paint of its type. The finest pigments and color ingredients have been used in high quantities, which means more paint to cover your engine and less solvent dissipated into the atmosphere. Plus, when used with the Stop Rust System as an undercoating, it results in a permanent rust protective coating. We formulated this POR-15 engine paint kit to be the best and most beautiful high-temperature enamel paint you can buy.
Our engine enamel paint flows easily, covers better than any other engine paint, and lasts longer. Our enamel paints are non-flammable and can easily handle engine temperatures up to 300°F without discoloring. POR-15 Engine Enamel conforms to even the strictest California environmental standards. We invite you to compare this brush-on engine paint with any other product, and you'll see what we mean.
Typically, a pint of engine enamel paint is enough for an entire engine. Choose Gray Stop Rust Kit when buying black or light colors of Engine Enamel. Engine Enamel can be brushed on or sprayed on with an HVLP system and proper safety equipment. Use POR-15 Reducer solvent up to 5% to thin for spraying if needed.
POR-15 Engine Enamel also works on air cleaner assemblies, pulleys, brackets, balancers, or anything needing a Top Coat. For extreme temperature requirements, we recommend using our POR-15 High Temp DTM paint.
Only Black and Chevy Orange enamel coatings are available in quarts.

Bare Steel: Remove grease, oil, and other foreign substances with water based POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser then rinse with water. If surface was previously painted, sand with 320 grit sandpaper or a POR-15 Scuff Pad then apply POR-15 Engine Enamel. If surface is bare or rusted metal you must use POR-15 Metal Prep to prepare surface before painting. Spray or brush POR-15 Metal Prep onto surface and keep wet for 10-20 minutes then rinse thoroughly with water. For best results, next apply one coat of POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating. When POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is dry to the touch with slight finger drag (approximately 2 to 6 hours) apply POR-15 Engine Enamel directly over POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating.
Apply in well-ventilated area only. Ideal ambient temperature for application is 70°F, but an acceptable temperature range is between 50-80°F. Mix POR-15 Engine Enamel by stirring only. Do not shake. POR-15 Engine Enamel can usually be brushed without thinning. A full coat will usually cover but if a second coat is needed, apply when first coat is dry to the touch (no finger drag) and within 24 hours of first coat.
Dry Time: Wait 4-6 days before starting engine.
Previously Finished or Primed Surfaces: Glossy surfaces should be roughened with 320 grit before recoating. All blistered and loose paint must be removed. Using POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser to ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, dirt, salts, and any other contaminants.
