POR-15 2K Urethane Industrial High Wear Top Coat is a heavy-duty, glossy two-component coating designed to be applied over the POR-15 Stop Rust undercoating system, or directly on primed or painted surfaces. This high-performance top coat forms a rock-hard, chemical-resistant, non-porous barrier , offering superior protection for a variety of surfaces. Use 2K Urethane over the POR-15 Stop Rust System for the ultimate rust protection.
Once fully cured, POR-15 2K Urethane provides exceptional durability, resisting cracking, chipping, peeling, and fading—even in harsh UV environments. Key benefits include :
Whether you're protecting machinery guards, heavy equipment, farm impliment, trailers, off-road chassis, skid plates, or undercarriage parts of vehicles, POR-15 2K Urethane Paint is the ideal solution.
This industrial-grade top coat is perfect for both automotive and industrial use , providing excellent resistance to stone chips, rough terrain, and extreme wear. Applications include :
With POR-15 2K Urethane, you can confidently tackle harsh conditions without compromising on durability or appearance.
For softer metals like aluminum, brass, or copper , we recommend using POR-15 Alloy Prep (formerly AP-120 Metal Prep) to ensure proper adhesion. This gentle etching process prepares the surface for the Clear 2K Urethane Top Coat, ensuring the toughest possible finish.
Experience the unparalleled toughness of POR-15 2K Urethane and protect your surfaces against chemicals, UV exposure, and extreme wear. Buy the perfect industrial-grade top coat to go over the POR-15 Rust Preventive system for your next project.
When using POR-15 2K Urethane Clear, it is recommended to use POR-15 Alloy Prep (formerly AP-120 Metal Prep) for a more gentle etching on alloys and other soft metals like aluminum, brass, and copper.
We recommend buying POR-15 Reducer Solvent with 2K Urethane for thinning (up to 20%) and clean-up.
Only Opaque colors have enough UV protection for the Rust Preventive Coating

Please read directions fully before proceeding so that you understand the complete POR-15 2K Urethane Part A and POR-15 2k Urethane Hardener Activator process.
Surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dust, grease, dirt, loose rust, and other foreign material to ensure adequate adhesion.
For all metal surfaces: Remove all oil and grease from surface with POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser following directions on container. Prepare the surface to be coated using POR-15 Metal Prep. For better performance, use Near White Metal Blast Cleaning per SSPC- SP10/NACE 2. For optimum performance prime any bare metal with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating.
Mix contents of each component thoroughly with low speed power agitation prior to combining 2K Urethane Part A with Part B 2k Urethane Hardener Activator. Make certain no pigment remains on the bottom of the can. After each component is fully mixed, combine 3 parts by volume of 2K Urethane Part A with 1 part by volume of Part B 2k Urethane Hardener Activator. Thoroughly agitate the mixture with power agitation for 5 minutes. Apply with natural bristle brush or spray (Read all warnings and use adequate safety equipment during application). We recommend mixing and testing a very small amount before being your project. Depending on environmental conditions, the chemical reaction may occur to quickly resulting in bubbles in the finish. To reduce bubbles and achieve smoother results use POR-15 Solvent and thin 5%-20% depending on your areas VOC laws.
POT LIFE: 2 hours.
DRY TIME: 12 hours.
RE-COAT TIME: 6 hours.
CLEAN-UP: Use xylene to thin (max. 10%) and to clean application tools or non-cured drips and splatter.
Use only with adequate ventilation. Before opening cans (POR-15 2K Urethane Part A and POR-15 Part B Urethane Hardener Activator) please read all warnings labels.
