WARNING: Cancer - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Application: Using and mixing POR-15 Epoxy Putty is easy. It is much easier to mix several smaller quantities together than a large amount.
Greasy or oily type substances should be cleaned with POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser prior to bonding. Sanding or roughing up the surface will help improve the putty’s ability to form a tight bond. POR-15 Epoxy Putty will cure underwater!
Gloves are recommended for mixing and molding the putty products. Be sure to remove any jewelry or rings from your hands.
Simply cut off equal parts of the A and B bars using the ruler on the paper holder as a guide.
Allow for approximately 30 + minutes work time. POR-15 Epoxy Putty will begin to set in about 1 hour from the time that mixing is complete.
POR-15 Epoxy Putty that is cold or below 70°F will be harder to mix because it is stiffer and will take a little longer to set. Putty that is above 90°F will be easier to mix because it is softer, but it and will have a shorter work life and will set in a shorter amount of time. Expect a steel-hard cure overnight.
Knead and roll the putty in your hands or on a clean working surface for approximately four or five minutes. We suggest rolling it out so it approximates the shape of a cord or rope, then fold it in half and twist it together. Knead the putty back into a ball and repeat the process until the putty becomes one uniform color. This is probably the quickest and easiest way to mix epoxy putty. Make sure there are no color streaks visible. You may add a small amount of water during mixing to thin out the putty.
Press, shape or mold the putty to the surface that you are repairing. POR-15 Epoxy Putty responds well to the use of water when smoothing, shaping, or molding. You will be able to obtain a very smooth surface when smoothed with water.
Clean all tools, reusable gloves or any objects with soap and warm water immediately after use.
After curing the epoxy putty can be sanded, drilled, routed, screwed, chiseled, surfaced, tapped, sawn, turned, filed, carved, stained or painted. POR-15 Epoxy Putty is resistant to heat, cold, and most fuels, most common chemicals and solvents or caustic agents.
