POR-15 High Build Primer provides sandable and buildable coating that can be applied over cured POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating and all POR-15 topcoats to enable quick refinishing and recoating of these products. POR-15 High Build Primer is a single component formula that fills in minor Imperfections. POR-15 High Build Sandable Primer adheres well to steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and other primed and painted surfaces.

We developed this special "interlocking" primer after many requests from customers who wanted a coating with special adhesion characteristics that make it perfect for most painted surfaces, especially POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating.

This tie coat primer is highly resistant to penetrating topcoats, like lacquers, enamels, and two-component finishes. It sands very smoothly, as well. Try some of this sanding high build primer on your next project.

Would not spray on in a wet, even coat.

I had difficulty using this product for the first time. It would not spray on in a wet even coat. It came without instructions regarding reduction and the air pressure to use when spraying. I used a small paint gun specifically made for primer but this primer seemed very thick and in need of reduction. I had to guess at the amount and type of reducer because the product came without information regarding reduction.

High build primer

The best high build primer I have used. Extremely durable also. Sands extremely well if you give proper curing time and use quality paper.”3m”

Best primer I’ve used

I’ve used a lot of different brands of primers over the years, I mainly restore farm equipment. By far the best adhesion to metal and it does get rather hard, fills good. I will buy again

Great High Build Primer

Sprays easy, covers well, good sanding, and adheres to POR15. All good.
