    POR-15 Matte Clear Coat premium quality water-based 2-part coating seals in any color or patina for a custom low sheen look, that lays out consistently coat after coat, with amazing results! POR-15 Matte Clear Coat is specifically designed to deliver an extreme level of resistance to scuffing and burnishing, and be a leader in high-performance waterborne matte clear coatings. POR-15 Matte Clear Coat is formulated with a low VOC, Waterborne Polyurethane Clear Coat technology that achieves a low sheen through chemistry and is silica-free, so No tiger-striping. This protective clear coat for metal also has excellent weathering properties and can be used on any substrate that can be cleared with a traditional clear coat. UV resistance is comparable to high-performance solvent-based clear coats, and protects your base-coat colors. Matte Clear can be thinned with distilled water if necessary.

    Coverage: One gallon mixed covers 340 sq ft with One coat at 1.8 mil thickness.
    One gallon should be enough for small-mid size car. One gallon and two quarts for a short bed truck. Two gallons for a multi-cab or extended bed truck.

    POR-15 Column Coating

    Tasked with coating cast iron, decorative columns in NYC, our client was very demanding. This product appeased the client and they were very satisfied with the overall, finished appearance. Our men were also satisfied with the ease of use.

    Dry Time:

    • Dust Free: 55 minutes
    • Air Dry (Touch) 2 hours
    • Baking @ 90˚F. 30 minutes

    Product mixing

    Stir Matte Clear Coat Parts A and B before mixing.
    2.4:1 Mixing ratio: 2.4 parts Matte Clear to 1 Part Hardener ( Thin or reduce with Distilled water only ). Stir well (do not shake)

    Application

    CONVENTIONAL - Suggested SPRAY GUN SET UP

    • 1.2 - 1.4 Fluid tip
    • 4 - 8 inch Spray distance
    • 20 - 45 psi Air pressure at regulator 
    • 8 - 11 psi at cap

    Apply with a 60% overlap 2 full wet coats.

    1. Prepare your base as you would most other substrates.

    2. Apply 2 full coats or until desired coverage has been achieved.

    3. Allow to flash off properly between coats.

    4. Allow 15 minutes before baking for 30 minutes @ 90˚F.

    Note: Always spray a test panel to ensure desired gloss level. Variations in application, temperature, and gun set up can affect the final gloss. Keep application speed, gun distance, and tecnique consistent.

    SURFACE PREPARATION: For use over all base coats, as well as previously base-coated substrates that are properly prepared. Surface must be clean, free of oil, wax, or grease, and completely dry.

    APPLICATION: Stir Matte Clear Coat before mixing. Combine 2.4 parts by volume of Matte Clear Coat Part A with 1 part by volume of Matte Clear Coat Hardener Activator Part B. Stir well, do not shake. Use distilled water to thin if necessary.
