POR-15 Rubberized Under Coating is a flexible, paintable, textured black coating. It is the only undercoating with POR-15 Rust Preventive technology and will protect against moisture, salt, chemicals, dust, heat, and cold. This rubberized paint for metal is an excellent moisture barrier for application over auto body repairs and creates an effective sound barrier that reduces vibration and deadens sound in wheel wells, quarter panels, fenders and under carriages. This undercoating spray paint provides superior adhesion to both painted and unpainted surfaces. POR-15 Rubberized Under Coating has superior resistance to road salt and will resist chipping and abrasions. May be used to insulate against engine and muffler noise, protects against dust penetration, and exhaust fumes.

POR-15 Rubberized Under Coating can be applied directly over POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating for the toughest rust, corrosion and moisture barrier possible along with excellent sound and vibration deadening.

    Wheel well VW beetle

I used the Rubberized under coating to replace the decades old crumbling undercoating on my 1969 VW bug. First I used the POR-15 3 step stop rust system, and then blasted it with the rubberized coating after. The combination of the stop rust system and the rubberized spray on coating worked amazing. It is quite a bit of prep, but the results were amazing.

    I love this undercoating

Tough undercoating that looks great, very forgiving to apply, just don’t go to thick at once or it will slough off on vertical surfaces.

    Works great and looks great

I put this over POR-15 and POR-15 Topcoat. It sprays on well and if the nozzle starts to spit they give you spares. To cover a 2007 F350 Crew Cab underside and 8’ bed took 8 cans. Looks really good when dried and is not a sticky mess. Overspray is pretty heavy so use drop cloths and mask off anything you don’t want the product on. Wear PPE and a good mask- stuff reeks! If you get some spitting, don’t worry it levels out fine.

    Rubberized Under Coating

Very impressive Stuff! I am totally impressed and satisfied! I had to show the guys at the shop and they to were in disbelief. They were asking how I did it and told them. And to call the company if you need help or other questions. They are super helpful. Thank you Por-15

Metal that is rough media blasted provides the best surface for coatings. If not possible, remove all built-up dirt, loose rust, and paint. Note that if you leave old paint behind, the new coating can only adhere as strongly as the paint it is applied over. This generally is not as strong as applying to prepped and scuffed-up bare metal. For new metal or smooth surfaces, roughen with 220-320 grit pad/paper. For the best protection against corrosion, we recommend applying the POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating as a primer on bare metal, after the surface has been cleaned and prepped.

These products should only be handled when wearing latex gloves, eye protection, and a proper respirator. Always work in a well-ventilated area.

Step 1. Apply our POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser to a surface, keep wet 10-15 minutes and agitate the surface with a scuff pad or stiff brush to brake up oil and grease. Then rinse thoroughly with water and allow the surface to dry. Repeat if surface is still oily or greasy. It is important not to allow the product to dry on the surface while working or prior to rinsing with water. POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser is a heavy duty water soluble cleaner that may be used over metal, wood, fiberglass, vinyl and concrete.

Step 2. Apply POR-15 Metal Prep to the bare metal surface, keep wet 10-30 minutes then rinse thoroughly with water and allow the surface to dry. It is important not to allow POR-15 Metal Prep to dry on the surface prior to rinsing with water. Once dry the surface may show a flash rust or white powdery residue this is perfectly normal. POR-15 Metal Prep provides the best surface profile and greatly improves paint adhesion to any type of metal surface for opaque paints and coatings.

Step 3. Shake can at least one minute before applying and occasionally during use. Apply in two to three light coats. Several light coats give a better finish than one heavy coat. Spray 12-1 inches from the surface. Spray first coat in a top to bottom motion and the second coat in a right to left motion. Allow each coat to dry before applying another, approximately 1 hour. Maintenance re-coating can be done after cleaning surface and reapply as needed.

Cleanup: To prevent clogs in spray nozzle, hold can upside down and spray until clear gas appears.
